SCARLESS EYEBAG SURGERY BY FAT REMOVAL
The simplest way to get rid of eyebags is to remove the fat in the lower eyelids via an internal incision in the lower eyelid. This is a relatively simple and quick procedure that is usually completed under local anesthesia. It has the following advantages:
- Only mild bruising and swelling
- Short downtime with early return to work
- No stitch removal required
- Minimal risks with high level of safety
This procedure is performed under local anesthesia with oral sedation or intravenous sedation and takes about one and a half hours as a day surgery procedure. Incisions are made along the inside of the lower eyelid. The fat pads are identified and carefully removed. Bleeding is meticulously controlled and the wounds are closed with internal sutures that do not need to be removed.
Postoperative pain is mild and well controlled with oral painkillers. There will be mild swelling and bruising. No stitch removal is required. You can start wearing eye makeup after one week and this can effectively camouflage the residual swelling and bruising so that you don’t need to wear sunglasses to conceal your eyes anymore. So the effective downtime is about one week. Exercise may be resumed after three weeks.
In expert hands, this is a very safe procedure, with minimal blood loss and risk of infection. Vision is not affected by the procedure.
